Caledonian Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club

Bowhill Lucy and friends were delighted to be invited to Dalkeith Palace by the University of Wisconsin.  Situated in beautiful Dalkeith Park, the Palace is not normally open to the public.

While there a copy of the painting of Henry 3rd Duke of Buccleuch by Gainsborough was presented to the Palace from the Caledonian Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club and was hung where the original used to be before it was moved to Bowhill House.

We were delighted that the Caledonian Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club and friends, along with pupils from Melrose Primary School helped launch the Bailey Gifford Borders Book Festival.

Now in its 15th year, the festival features over 100 events and runs from 13th – 16th of June. Details can be found at www.bordersbookfestival.org

March 2019

The Caledonian Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club held its AGM at The Theatre, Bowhill.  This was followed by one of our popular grooming seminars.

Those attending ranged from people who had their first Dandie and wanted some help to those who were highly skilled groomers in other breeds and wanted to know some of the finer points of Dandie grooming. Many thanks to all those who helped on the day.

January 2019

Bowhill Lucy helped to launch the Dandie Dinmont sausage to raise awareness of the dandie dinmont terrier and its connections with the town.

Created by John Taylor, Master Butcher, the pork and mustard or beef and pepper are exclusive to Taylors Family Butchers, Market Place Selkirk.

The BBC’s Antiques Road Trip was in the Scottish Borders and featured dogs from the Caledonian Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club and some friends.  Filmed in 2018, it was great to see it screened in the New Year.  Well done to Calum and Lucy for their part in it.
